Hebrews Part Five - Because He suffered He can help us

“…..Tom Wright …gives an account of 2 sons in a family – one of the sons was studious and the other was a tear-away – this lad was always getting into scraps and scrapes and was pushing the boundaries all the time, getting deeper and deeper into trouble, until one tragic day when he was involved in a brawl and sadly he was killed. Tom Wright describes how the brother, however much he wanted to help the younger brother, couldn’t help him because they had grown so far apart from each other so he couldn’t come to where he was and rescue him. He uses this story to illustrate how Jesus came to where we were, came to rescue us, by being as we are, humans, and thereby able to rescue us from our fate….”
