Join us for Cafe Church on Sundays at 3pm. A relaxed worship service with afternoon tea and refreshments. Singing, prayer, Holy Cmmunion and time to get to know Jesus better. make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
In that most
moving Good Friday reading from Isaiah, the prophet, when extoling the
suffering servant, laments that, “We all
like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way” (Isa
53:6)
This is
serious stuff. It’s not just about woolly farm animals with dopey faces! This
is about being separated from the source of life himself – God our Creator.
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do
not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth, walk.” 7 Taking him by the right hand, he helped him
up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. (Acts 3:6-7)
The purpose
of the Alpha course is to allow guests and team to explore questions of life
and Christian faith together. Some may come to faith and make a commitment.
Some may not. But that’s not its purpose. The course explores the Good News in
the scriptures and relies on the ministry of the Holy Spirit, which is the
focus of the latter third of the course.
